Day 7-Tattoos

What tattoos do you have, and do they have meaning to you?

I currently have one tattoo. It is almost a year old at this point. I dreamed the idea up for a full year before getting it. Many parts of my personality match up with the qualities of a deer, so I knew I wanted to incorporate this majestic animal. Continue reading “Day 7-Tattoos”

Day 5–A Place You Would Live

What is a place you would live but have never visited?

I have always had a weird longing to live in a castle in the rolling hills of Ireland or Scotland. Continue reading “Day 5–A Place You Would Live”

Review–A Visit From The Goon Squad

Wow.

I just finished this book, assigned for my Creative Writing class, and I am having a little trouble living in the real world now.

This book is such a complex myriad of characters, relationships, points of view, tenses, and time periods, and they are all jumbled up so the reader is confused at the beginning of each chapter. But that’s how life is. Continue reading “Review–A Visit From The Goon Squad”

Day 4–10 Interesting Things

Ten interesting things about me:

1.I have known for my whole life that I will someday write a book. The subject and genre have yet to be determined.

  1. My thumbs are not the same length. Continue reading “Day 4–10 Interesting Things”

Day 3–The Best Compliment

Today’s prompt: “What is the best compliment you’ve received?”

Someone told me recently that I have good leadership qualities and a strong drive. This comment was significant to me because I don’t consider myself to be a leader figure. I don’t enjoy speaking in front of lots of people, I don’t enjoy being in charge or telling people what to do, and I’m not skilled at mediating conflicts. Musical Inspiration–A Long December

I thought this song was fitting for the first day of the new year!

“It’s been a long December, and there’s reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last.”

This lovely song is by Counting Crows.

2016–Even More Of Me

And so this year comes to a close.

I’m not one to make resolutions because I don’t think my goals should be based around a yearly calendar. If I’m serious about them then they should be ongoing and motivated by myself, not by the approach of January. But I do like to take this time to reflect on the past year of my life and what’s to come. Continue reading “2016–Even More Of Me”

Musical Inspiration–Rush

This, my friends, is Spirit of the Radio. I thought it was funny that one day I woke up to my clock radio alarm playing this song, and the lyrics say, “Begin the day with a friendly voice, a companion unobtrusive…”

Enjoy 🙂

Rethinking

How do we know what we want in life? What do we base our morals and standards and expectations off of?

In the past few months and even weeks, I have felt myself shift in my perspective of how others act towards me. We learn many of our attitudes from our parents and mentors while we are young, but we learn just as much from people around us who make mistakes and show us how not to be.
